Rare kit from ITC. 1940 Mercury AQUIRED ONE MORE!!!

I accuired this rare gem at a show in Sweden this weekend. Its presumably a 1940 Mercury Convertible made by ITC (Ideal Toy Corporation) some time in the late fifthies/early sixties in 1/25 scale.

The top is quite strange. It looks like ITC actually made this kit with a Gaylord custom top or something. It aslo has longer rearfenders and trunk than any 39/40 ford kits.

This model will get  the real 40s custom treatment sometime in the future.  As the pics shows, its a lot of workStick out tongue But with a 40 Ford donor kit and some TLC , it will see the light of day.....I hope.

Anyone have more info on this stranger?
