Simoncelli delighted with best result

Gresini rider Marco Simoncelli was 'delighted' to have recorded his best ever finish in a MotoGP event after battling to second place in the Australian Grand Prix behind new world champion Casey Stoner. The Italian ran in second place for much of the race, but dropped behind Andrea Dovizioso when the track dampened along with a sudden rain shower. Simoncelli remained composed however and re-passed the factory Repsol Honda rider on the last lap as the track dried out again.
