Renault's reserve driver Romain Grosjean set the pace on the opening day of GP2 Asia series testing at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. The Frenchman, who will race in the series with the DAMS team, posted the best time of the day in the afternoon following a very slow morning, during which there was very little running due to the track conditions.
